A TIMETABLE of events has been drawn up to mark St George's Day in Heighington.
The free event, organised by local businesses and community groups, will be held on the village greens on Saturday, from noon.
The festivities start with spit roasts. At 1.30pm there will be a medieval battle re-enactment performed by the Escafeld Medieval Society.
Teams from The Beer Horse and the George and Dragon pubs will go head-to-head in a tug o' war competition at 4pm.
A children's fancy dress competition will be judged at 5.30pm, followed by a prize-giving ceremony.
Live music by the Rhythm Method band will be performed from 7.30pm.
Throughout the day there will also be apple dunking, face painting, an outdoor bar, children's raffles, coconut shies, costume photographers and stocks to raise money for charity.
The village's Spar store has donated 1,000 balloons and a £50 meat voucher in support of the event, and staff will be appearing in fancy dress on the day.
