Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault at the McDonald's restaurant in Northgate, Darlington, on Wednesday.
A 15-year-old boy said he was hit in the face with a bottle by a gang of four Asian youths in the restaurant at 6.30pm. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Ann Wraith on (01325) 467681
RUGBY THEFT: A player had his wallet stolen while he was training at Mowden Rugby Club, in Darlington. Luke Monument left his wallet in the changing room at the club while he was training on Wednesday night between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The wallet contained credit cards and about £160 in cash.
HOMES BURGLED: A purse containing £10, bingo vouchers and bank cards was stolen from a house in Hylton Road, Ferryhill, between 4.40pm and 5.10pm on Monday while the occupier was in the garden. About £140 contained in two purses was stolen from handbags in a house in Ravensworth Road, in the town, at about 2.30pm yesterday.
STONE THROWN: A stone thrown from the blue bridge over St Cuthbert's Way, Newton Aycliffe, at 9.10pm on Tuesday, caused a large crack in the windscreen of a Vauxhall Cavalier travelling underneath.
FLOWER POWER: A cheque for £1,115 raised by Darlington Flower Club was presented to the NSPCC at an open evening held in Polam Hall School, Darlington. The club's next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7, at 2pm, in St Cuthbert's Church Centre, when there will be a demonstration by Pauline Madagan, from Hartlepool.

HALL EVENT: Westgate Village Hall is hosting a prize bingo and quiz night on Friday, May 2, at 7pm.
