FORMER breakfast TV celebrity Selina Scott has joined a planning dispute between her parents and a country pub owner.
Charles and Betty Scott are fighting a decision by the landlord of the Moors Inn, in the North Yorkshire village of Appleton-le-Moors, to install new lighting.
The couple say the lights shine into their home.
Now their daughter has written to the North York Moors National Park Authority planning department complaining about the intrusion.
She wrote: "Our house is the only one in the village to be affected.
"None of the parish councillors live near the site and not surprisingly had no objections.
"We are at the mercy of the lights installed a year ago without permission, and they are left on quite late at times.
"The lights are too much - floodlights and adverts and a door light. There used to be a single lantern."
She says the lights contravene park policy.
"Strong action should be taken to remove them. This is a medieval village.
"Unlike others there was no light pollution until now," she writes.
A spokesman for the national park confirmed Ms Scott was among those who had objected to the pub's retrospective application for planning permission.
A decision on the application was deferred to next month.
