A NEW riding club is welcoming members to its base at Northallerton Equestrian Centre, Yafforth.
Darrowby and District Riding Club has just been recommended for affiliation to the British Horse Society.
Initially, club nights are fortnightly on a Wednesday and will be tuition-based. They will become more frequent and varied in response to members' requests for particular activities.
Everyone will be actively encouraged to become involved in team events with options at all levels and in all disciplines.
Anyone who is aged 13 or over can join either the junior or senior membership.
On Sunday, March 30, the club had four teams entered in their first show jumping competition, and three of those were placed. Darrowby had first and third in the open class and fourth in the novice.
Planned events for this year are a showcross on Monday, May 26, an equitation and SJ competition on Sunday, June 29 in line with the Riding Club area competition at the end of July and dressage on Sunday, August 24.
Anyone interested can contact the secretary on 01347 821511.
