A SUPPORT group made up of children crossed the Tees the hard way when they climbed to the top of the Transporter Bridge, in Middlesbrough, and then walked across it.
The Children Who Foster Group is made up of the biological offspring of foster carers who meet regularly to help each other and the youngsters their families are looking after.
They undertook the challenge on Wednesday to raise funds so they can organise activities for the group.
Middlesbrough Council's social services family placement officer, Val Scott, said: "The children and their families make an invaluable contribution to the care of Middlesbrough's most vulnerable and needy children, for whom they sacrifice their time, their parents' time and affection as well as their homes.
"We hope the sponsored event will raise funds for other activities the group will be involved in throughout the year."
