More than four decades after a cult film shocked cinemagoers, a school's pupils are staging their version for a young audience.
Pupils at Wolsingham School and Community College will perform in the comedy The Little Shop of Horrors next week.
The offbeat musical tells of meek florist Seymour Krelbourn, who makes a pact with a plant in order to win the girl he loves.
The production was due to be held last month, but it was postponed because of an end-of-term visit by inspectors from the Office for Standards in Education.
Sixth-former Peter Corkish, from Witton-le-Wear, plays Seymour, Ashleigh Maddison, 14, from Stanhope, his girlfriend Audrey and Norman Allen, 15, from Howden, a dentist called Orin.
David Ward is the voice of the plant while Chris Laing, 15, appears as shop owner Mr Mushnik.
The show will be staged in the school hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 7pm.
Tickets cost £4 with concessions £3, and are available from the school on (01388) 527302, the Weardale Gazette office, Stanhope, Joan Woodhall's fruiterers, Stanhope, or on (01388) 528062.
