A FASHION show is expected to have raised more than £3,000 for the Macmillan County Durham Appeal.
About 100 guests attended the event held at Shotley Hall, Shotley Bridge, yesterday.
So many people were interested in attending the £36-a-head show - opened by BBC Look North presenter Carol Malia - that organisers had to move the event into a large marquee.
Caroline Peacock, fundraiser for the Macmillan Cancer Relief County Durham Appeal, said: "It was a terrific do. The clothes were fabulous and it was a complete sell-out."
The event was organised by Dotty Benson, from Lanchester, near Consett, to thank Macmillan for helping her overcome breast cancer.
During the event, Ms Benson was reunited with Macmillan breast cancer nurse Antoinette Moffa, who looked after her during her illness.
Cash raised from the event will go towards the Macmillan target of raising £600,000 to fund two palliative care consultant posts and boost the number of specialist Macmillan cancer nurses.
Mrs Peacock said the extra money should help to take the total over £330,000.
The fashion show featured clothes by Fenwick of Newcastle, The House at Yarm, Get Ahead Hats plus jewellery by Marguerite Todd.
