THE search is on to find talented girls with attitude for a new North-East band.
Genius Entertainment, in Stanley, County Durham, is looking for feisty female singers, drummers, guitarists and keyboard players for an all-girl group in the style of Canadian punk pop princess Avril Lavigne, or US superstar Pink.
Genius Entertainment's Adam Chetter, said: "We are looking for girls aged between 17 and 24 who have strong identities and are passionate about music.
"We are looking for performers and musicians who are serious about what they do, not those who are only interested in their moment of fame.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase unknown talent. It's all about passion and dedication."
The company already has songs lined up for the girls, penned by people who have written music for the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige and Christina Aguilera.
However, Mr Chetter said the long-term aim is for the band's members to have a major role in the songwriting.
He said: "We are determined to take this band all the way, not making it another flash in the pan. This is a band, not a group."
Auditions are due to take place soon, with the group to be launched in October with a tour of the region.
To audition, contact the company on (01207) 284720, or visit www.genius-entertainment. com
