40 years ago: Darlington RA institute beat Coundon 6-4 in a very exciting final of the Darlington Charity Cup. Goals by Bartle, Guy and Comett put the Railwaymen 3-0 up at half time, but within nine minutes of the second half Coundon are level. Both sides added further goals to make the full time score 4-4. Hadwin and Commet scored in extra time to give the Railwaymen victory.
35 years ago: Toft Hill and Catterick Youth Club contest the Darlington Charity Cup Final and Alan Allison puts Toft Hill in front before John Rutherford equalises. Keith Thompson restores Toft Hill's lead only for Ray Parsons to grab a late equaliser for Catterick.
Dashing strokemaker Jonty Raine and Alan Pratt both score 31 runs as North Bitchburn beat Belmont by 27 runs.
Jack Ayre take four wickets for 24 runs on the Saturday and follows up with five wickets for four runs on the Sunday as Crook Town CC record two weekend victory.
10 years ago: Bowes FC beat Reeth FC 4-0 in the final of the Dales Cup with Ken Luck, Trevor Guy, Andrew Beadle and Brian Donald their scorers.
