NORTH-East students will stage a protest against plans for top-up fees tomorrow.
Durham University students will demonstrate their opposition to proposals in the Government's White Paper on education for £3,000-a-year fees.
Similar protests have taken place across the UK but this will be the first organised by Durham Students' Union (DSU).
Its theme will be Taking the Shirts Off Our Backs and students will symbolically remove their shirts.
DSU president Ben Wood said: "The issue of the White Paper is still a serious concern for students, and at this key time, when Charles Clarke will be collating all the responses from the consultation process, a physical display of students' feelings will make a powerful statement."
