Under-14s Challenge Cup Final - Marton 8 v 1 Boldon: The goals in this game were scored by Elisha Fry, Aimee Morrison and Anna Mawston who scored two goals each.
There was a goal each for Becky Hanratty and Angela Armstrong. Boldon's goal came from the penalty spot and was scored by their keeper Helen Alderson. The Title Trophies Cup Final Player of the Match trophy was awarded to Susan Badger from Marton.
Under-18s Challenge Cup Final
Newcastle 6 v 1 Marton
A good game played with spirit and commitment by both teams. Marton got off to a great start with inly 8 minutes on the clock with Lucy Martin firing in from a corner after Newcastle failed to clear. The game then see-sawed from end to end, Newcastle were rewarded with the equaliser when Naomi Robson made a run up the right hand side and score. Newcastle became more confident after the equaliser with the back 4 giving very little away and were rewarded with a second scored by Lorraine Hood. Marton came back strongly looking to get back into the game and would have scored if it had not been for goalkeeper Nichola Andrews who pushed a first class shot onto the crossbar and out for a corner. Two quick goals from Nikki O'Donnell gave Newcastle a 4-1 lead at half time. The second half started with Marton building some useful looking moves. Newcastle scored 2 further goals in this half one each for Amanda Ross and Hannah Turnbull, Marton kept pressing and hoping for a chance to get back into the game. The Title Trophies Cup Final Player of the Match trophy was awarded to Nikki O'Donnell from Newcastle. A special mention to match officials and league representatives for their hard work and first class performances on the day.
Under-14s Presidents Trophy
Newcastle 1 v 9 Blyth Town
Blyth opened the scoring after 2 minutes with 2 quick goals from Helen McManus and Jessica Havelock. Further goals from Amanda Turnbull, Helen McManus and Jessica Havelock made it 5-0 at half time. The second half started with Blyth on the offensive with a further 2 goals from Helen McManus, and one each for Rachel Lee and Anne Hughes completed the scoring for Blyth. Newcastle never gave up and battled until the final whistle with the goal of the game being scored by Becky Boakes for Newcastle. The Title Trophies Cup Final Player of the Match trophy was awarded to rachel Lee from Blyth.
League Under-12s
Cramlington 1 v 4 Lumley
Lumley's goals came from Rachel Kirkup, Polly Anna Ringland and 2 ffor player of the match Amy Gaskell, Player of the match for Cramlington was Cara Moran.
Boldon 1 v 2 South Durham Royals
Boldon's final game of the season was against south Durham, with the first period of play kenly contested, with the home side taking the lead with a goal from player of the match Stacey Bonney. The second period of play was goal less with the equaliser coming in the third period. It was the final period of play before this game was decided with Royals goals being scored by Victoria Wray and player of the match Rebecca Pattinson.
Sunderland 24/7 Girls
14 v 0 Wardley
Sunderland completed their final league game of the season against a battling Wardley team who competed to the final whistle. Sunderlands goals came from Holly Taylor 4, Three each for Rachael Laws and Lauren Ramshaw. Two for Donna Bolton and 1 each for Samantha Sweeney and player of the match Lyndsey Bell. Player of the match for Wardley was Emmy Campbell.
Under-14s
Catterick 3 v 3 Forest Hall
This was an evenly matched game whih could have went either way in the end. Forest Hall opened the scoring with a goal from player of the match Sarah Bennett who went on to complete her hat trick throughout the game. Catterick equalised through a goal keeping error with the scorer being Louise McCaffrey. The second half saw Catterick awarded a penalty which was slotted home by Sarah Tunstall. Forest Hall equalised straight away and then took the lead two minutes later. Cattericks final goal came from Kelly Collinson, neither team could break the dead lock and the game finished as a draw. Player of the match for Catterick was Charlotte Ewbank.
* The Under-12s and 13s cup finals will take place on Sunday May 11 at Seaton Carew Cricket Club Elizabeth Way Hartlepool with the first final kicking off at 10.30pm.
