CROWDS turned out to see the US Civil War brought back to life with authentic battle scenes and demonstrations.
Hundreds of re-enactors interacted with visitors at Kiplin Hall, near Scorton, North Yorkshire, in an educational and entertaining programme of events.
The grounds of the hall were transformed by The American Civil War Society into a huge encampment, with soldiers and civilians displaying their skills and day-to-day life.
Hall officials hoped to showcase Britain's connections to the US Civil War, which took place from 1861 to 1865.
The society's marketing director, Roger Willison-Gray, said: "People forget that most of the men fighting in the American Civil War were descended from colonists who had come from Britain.
"There were more than 45,000 British men fighting in the war, with 67 British soldiers awarded Congressional Medals of Honour."
