A WOMAN could lose an eye after she was kicked in the face during a night out.
The 45-year-old, from Consett, County Durham, who has not been named, was attacked after an argument with two younger women on Newcastle's Quayside.
The victim, out with her 46-year-old partner, became involved in a disagreement with the two women in the Slice bar, formerly Flynn's.
As the couple left, one of the women followed them outside. She pushed the couple to the ground and kicked the older woman in the face. The attacker then left the scene in a saloon-type taxi.
The victim was last night still being treated in Newcastle General Hospital. A police spokesman said the injury was serious and that the woman might lose the use of her left eye.
Her assailant is described as white, aged 20 to 25, 5ft 7in, slim and with a pretty face and long blonde, streaked hair. She was wearing a white top, short skirt and high heels and spoke with a local accent.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Newcastle Central CID on 0191-214 6555, extension 62144.
