A DISABLED man narrowly avoided a driving ban being imposed by magistrates in Darlington yesterday.
Paul Olding, 22, of Vine Street, Darlington, admitted speeding at almost 40mph in North Road, Darlington, which has a 30mph limit.
South Durham Magistrates' Court was told by Jon Wager, mitigating, that Olding, who has cerebral palsy, knew he faced a driving ban because of past motoring offences.
But he said his client needed his car to get around.
Olding was fined £60 plus £65 costs.
