VISITORS experienced a working example of the North-East's railway heritage over the bank holiday weekend.
Darlington's Railway Centre and Museum gave tourists the chance to ride in the guard's van of a Peckett steam engine.
Visitors were also able to view the museum's latest exhibit - the Blue Peter steam locomotive which arrived last month.
