A WOMAN was assaulted after getting into a taxi with a couple she did not know following a night out.
The woman agreed to share a taxi home, to the Clavering area of Hartlepool.
During the journey, on Sunday at 12.15am, a row began and the woman, who was sitting in the front of the taxi, was attacked by the pair, who were in the back.
The couple got out and the taxi driver took the woman, who had a swollen mouth, cuts to her face and some of her hair pulled out, to Hartlepool police station.
The female attacker was in her late twenties to early thirties, about 5ft 6in, with dyed blonde, straight shoulder-length hair.
The man was in his early twenties, of slim build and had dark hair.
