RAILWAY visitors cast their minds to military matters as part of a themed event.
Tanfield Railway held a military weekend from Saturday to Monday.
As well as running its normal train service, it staged an exhibition of old vehicles including lorries, transporters, and a crane.
Visitors to the museum were also encouraged to dress up in Second World War costumes.
Anyone who was able to produce their original wartime identification card was given free travel, and replica versions of the ID cards were issued as tickets.
There was also a 1940s dance, at Marley Hill Community Centre.
Tanfield Railway is open Sundays and bank holidays, from 11am to 4pm.
