A SERIES of healthy walks are being launched in Guisborough.
The twice-weekly walks, part of the Walking the Way to Health scheme, start today.
They will take place on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings each week until the end of the summer holidays.
All the walks will be up to three miles long and will start from the doctor's surgery in Rectory Lane, Guisborough.
They are led by experienced walkers with first aid training and are aimed at those new to the pursuit.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's countryside officer, Briony Serginson, said: "We're relaunching the programme after the success of last year.
"They're all undertaken at a casual pace and should attract those new to walking.
"They'll be a great way of enjoying the local countryside and making new friends."
Today's evening walk starts at 6pm, and will be held at the same time every Thursday until June 5.
The Tuesday walks leave the doctor's surgery at 10am. They start next week and will be held every following week until June 3.
