COMMUNITY groups in the borough of Stockton are being urged to apply for a grant to help them carry out environmental work.
The Elementis Landfill Small Grant Fund is funded through Elementis Chromium's Landfill Tax Credit scheme.
It is managed by the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust and Stockton Residents' and Community Association.
The scheme offers grants of up to £1,000 to groups in the borough to carry out environmental, educational and practical improvement work.
Projects funded so far include developing wildlife gardens and improving community centre gardens in Billingham.
For further information, or to request an application pack, call Tees Valley Wildlife Trust on (01642) 759900.
