NEW COURSES: Three eight-week courses in Hatha Yoga begin next week at Chester-le-Street Community Centre. A beginners course will be held between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday, with a session for beginners and improvers from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Tuesday. TAXING QUESTIONS: Inland Revenue officials will be holding a free advice session on tax credits, income tax and national insurance in Chester-le-Street JobCentre, from 10am to 1pm, next Tuesday.

ANTIQUES NIGHT: Cancer Research UK is holding an antiques valuation night from 7pm to 9pm tomorrow, in Bethel United Reform Church in Low Chare. Tea and coffee will be available and each valuation will cost £1.
CHOPWELL WALK: Dennis Driver will lead Chester-le-Street Ramblers Association on a walk around Chopwell Woods on Sunday, May 18. Meet at 9.30am outside the Civic Centre.
Mission appeal: Father Dennis Carter, a Columbian priest, will make an appeal on behalf of the Missionary Orders at all the masses at St Joseph's RC Church, Birtley, on Saturday, May 17.
