YOUNGSTERS who have completed a student librarian training scheme will be presented with their awards during a ceremony next week.
Newlands School, Middlesbrough, will host the event for students across Redcar and Cleveland.
The training is co-ordinated by the Schools Resources Service and has been running for four years.
This year, 156 pupils from 19 schools have participated, and they will receive their certificates on Thursday.
Pupils' portfolios will be on display along with posters and library guides that they have produced over the year.
Guest speaker will be the children's author Susan Gates, who has written the books Revenge of the Toffee Monster, Killer Mushrooms Ate My Gran, Night of the Haunted Trousers and Humanzee.
After the presentation, she will be signing books.
Ten pupils from Newlands took part in this year's event.
Librarian at the school, Nichola Barker, said: "All of the pupils have put a tremendous amount of effort into completing the scheme and some of the display work that they have produced is fabulous.
"Most have been coming in every day to help, not just when it is raining.
"The enthusiasm that the children have shown has been fantastic and some of the group are now looking forward to starting advanced training next year."
