gardeners are being urged to enter a competition to find Peterlee's best gardens and allotments.
The town council-run competition is open to all residents of Peterlee except councillors, council staff and their immediate families.
There are ten cash prizes each for large domestic gardens and small gardens.
There are also seven judges' awards of merit in categories including the best hanging basket, garden feature, environmental contribution, newcomer to competition and most improved garden.
A council spokesman said: "Entry to the competition is free, and you do not need to be an expert gardener. All gardens entered into the official judging will receive a signed certificate to mark their entry."
Entries should be submitted by Friday, July 11. Judging will take place between 9am and 5pm on July 17.
