PEOPLE have been helping celebrate a North-East town's 150th birthday.
Shoppers at the Cleveland Shopping Centre have launched an exhibition called This Is Middlesbrough - What Makes You Smile.
The idea is to capture the face of Middlesbrough, which will be made up of photographs of people smiling.
Shots are being taken by students from Cleveland College of Art and Design.
Lecturer Harold Fricker said: "This has been a fantastic project for the students and has resulted in a diverse and optimistic view of the people of Middlesbrough. We want to expand this project and so have set up a mini-studio within the exhibition to enable visitors to become part of it by having their portraits taken."
The exhibition will be open until May 22, and at the Dorman Museum from June 3 to September 7.
