A DRIVER was pulled over by police after putting more than 100 wooden posts, each measuring more than five-feet, into his Ford Escort, a court heard yesterday.
Graham Holdsworth, of Sunniside Terrace, Trimdon Grange, County Durham, admitted carrying a dangerously heavy load in his vehicle, before magistrates in Darlington yesterday.
The 29-year-old was pulled over by police because his car was carrying 14 six-foot posts, 80 five-foot posts, and 24 12-foot posts.
The court heard the load was so heavy that his car was weighed down on to the back wheels, with the front raised up, and he had a limited view out of the windows.
Unemployed Holdsworth was fined £75, ordered to pay £35 costs and given six penalty points on his licence.
