DOZENS of children from schools across Teesside have given up their lunchtimes to successfully complete a training course as student librarians.
A total of 126 volunteer librarians from 19 secondary schools will be presented with certificates by local author Susan Gates.
It will be the fourth annual awards ceremony and will be held at Newlands School, Middlesbrough, tomorrow.
The two-term course, which also included after-school work, was organised by the Schools Resources Service, a joint support service to schools in the four Teesside boroughs.
This year, 28 students have completed the advanced course and other North-East authorities have set up their own schemes.
