A MIDDLESBROUGH primary school has been praised by education chiefs for its good teaching and hard-working children.
Ofsted inspectors also described North Ormesby Primary School as an effective and well managed school following a recent visit.
The 252-pupil school was praised for its ethos, its provision for children with special needs and the way it uses information technology to support teaching.
But inspectors said the school needed to improve its planning of the curriculum and the attendance of a minority of pupils.
Headteacher Patrick O'Reardon-Boyle said: "The whole school community emerges with great credit from the report and it can go on to even better things.
"As the report notes, there are a lot of changes in the community of North Ormesby at the moment, with many new plans for regeneration and new development, including a new nursery and reception unit for the school."
The report said the school had improved since its last inspection and highlighted the quality of teaching, the sound leadership from the headteacher and support he receives from the governors.
