Newton Aycliffe made it a Cup double when six of the best were more than enough to clinch their latest Cup success.
On Sunday they romped to victory in The Northern Echo Darlington Sunday Invitation League First Division Cup Final with a 6-0 win over Hurworth Albion and this success came a month after clinching a County Cup.
In April they beat West Auckland Social Club 3-1 to successfully defend the Heart Foundation Cup that they won last year and they are on course for a Cup treble as this Sunday they are in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
Played at Darlington Railway Athletic's Brinkburn Road ground, Aycliffe came into Sunday's the game as favourites and certainly lived up to that tag when they took a 4-0 lead into the half-time break against a hard-working Hurworth side.
Although Hurworth did provide stiffer opposition in the second half they were unable to break down the Sports Club, who featured former Darlington defender Phil Brumwell amongst their team, and they went on to score twice more.
Goals from James Miller, Craig Barrigan, and two from both Andy Turner and man of the match John Shotton were enough to capture Newton Aycliffe's latest Cup success.
Following the game captain, Dave Fawcett, collected the trophy from the Northern Echo promotions manager, Carol Bellinger.
