A NEW deputy headteacher has taken up her post at a Newton Aycliffe school.
Staff and pupils at Woodham Community Technology College have welcomed Christine Forsyth in her new role.
Mrs Forsyth was formerly head of modern foreign languages at the English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College in Hartlepool, where she taught French and German.
She is married with a 10-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son and currently lives in Durham.
Born in Bishop Auckland, Mrs Forsyth grew up in Escomb and attended King James I Grammar School in Bishop Auckland.
She studied for her degree in French language and literature at Leeds University.
Mrs Forsyth said: "I am delighted to have been appointed deputy headteacher at Woodham Community Technology College and am very much looking forward to working with the local community of Newton Aycliffe as well as within the college itself."
