REGULARS at a country pub are being given the chance to surf the net in a new computer room at their local.
David and Susan Hawksworth, licencees of The Fox & Hounds, in Bullamoor, near Northallerton, have installed computers with free online facilities.
The suite was set-up with help from North Yorkshire County Council Community Education Service and UK Online. It is accessible to wheelchair users and includes additional support items, such as screen enlargers and large button keyboard.
The official launch of 'Locals Online' coincided with the Adult Learners' Week.
The county council's executive member for education Coun Chris Metcalfe said: "The support available in this pub will be a real draw for locals, interested in accessing the internet for shopping for food, clothes or holidays, or for contacting friends and family by e-mail."
