Wear Valley Ladies League: Crook Royal Sun clinched the league Championship in style when they only dropped one point on their visit to Crook Surtees.
However the runners-up spot had a late twist in the tail when Crook Mill House vaulted over Crook Golden Fleece to grab the higher spot by a single point. The Mill edged through by the odd point at home to Oakenshaw, whilst the Fleece blew their chance when they went down by three points at home to Howden Sunnydene Lodge. There could still be a further twist for Willington Brewer's Droop still have a match to be recorded and only trail the Mill by seven points with nine to play for.
The leading individual scorers were Joan Hall 152 for the Three Blue Bells, Karen Ayre 136 and Margaret Storey 125 for the Coach and Horses, Sylvia Dennison 128 for Croft Social Club and Betty Chapman 121 for the Golden Fleece.
