TWO women trapped after a car crash, a young couple beaten up at a Metro station and a drunk man who gets tangled up in his trousers are some of the real-life North-East medical emergencies to be shown on television this week.
Camera crews from Tyne Tees Television followed the region's medical teams through an eventful night on Tyneside for the documentary Emergency, which is being screened on Thursday, at 11pm.
The programme features a paramedic crew from the North East Ambulance Service, the Accident and Emergency team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Gateshead, and doctors from Prime Call, in Newcastle, which offers an out-of-hours GP service across the North-East.
It is the latest in the Night Shift series of documentaries to be shown on Tyne Tees, charting the lives of people who work while the rest of us sleep.
