A PRIMARY school will be able to buy sports and activity equipment for its after-school group, thanks to a National Lottery grant.
West Cornforth Primary School has been given £3,500 in the latest Awards for All scheme.
The money will be used to further the school's aim to offer full care support for pupils up to 11.
The school already has a breakfast club and after-school club and has children on the premises every day from 7.30am to 6pm.
Headteacher Janet Sarsfield said: "The money will be used for our activities project. We will be offering different sporting activities every evening for a period of ten weeks, after which the selection will change."
The school will be buying equipment for table-tennis, tennis, hockey, cricket and gymnastics, as well as board games and computer games.
Mrs Sarsfield said: "We are extremely pleased to get this funding in order to build-up the after-school activities programme, so that children can utilise it when needed.
"Our parents are really supportive of all the new initiatives that are going on within the school."
