THE following cases were heard at South Durham Magistrates' Court in Darlington yesterday:
DRIVER FINED: Paul James Scott, 34, of West Auckland Road, Darlington, admitted failing to stop at a red light and failing to produce his driving licence. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £35 costs, and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
SPEEDING OFFENCE: Dilbeer Singh, 39, of Dixon Avenue, Crosshill, Glasgow, was fined £170 and ordered to pay £35 costs after admitting speeding at 103mph in a 70mph zone. His licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
PARKING ACCUSATION: Anthony Britton, 53, of Broadway, Darlington, denied two offences of parking in a prohibited area and will appear again for a pre-trial review on June 16.
DRIVING CHARGES: Michael Clarey, 24, of Evenwood Gate, Evenwood, near Bishop Auckland, pleaded not guilty to driving without a proper licence and having no insurance or test certificate. He will appear again for a pre-trial review on June 9.
NO LICENCE: Dale Turner, 20, of Hercules Street, Darlington, admitted driving without a valid licence or insurance. He was fined £125and ordered to pay £35 costs, and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
GUILTY PLEA: Christopher Peter Firby, 22, of Shirley Close, Evenwood, Bishop Auckland, admitted driving without a valid licence and was fined £80, ordered to pay £35 costs, and disqualified from driving for six months.
CASE ADJOURNED: Trevor McGuinness, 20, of Oakley Gardens, West Auckland, admitted driving without insurance, a licence or an MoT test certificate. The case was adjourned until June 9.
