MEDIEVAL knights and birds of prey will be some of the attractions at Sedgefield's 33rd Medieval Fair.
The fair, organised by the Sedgefield Community Association, will be held on the village green and in the grounds of Ceddesfeld Hall on Saturday.
The Knights of the Black Phoenix will be demonstrating their skills. Ridgeside Falconry will be showing off their magnificent birds of prey.
There will be a tug-of-war contest, displays of traditional dancing, music by the Cleveland Police Band, a fun fair, craft stalls, bric-a-brac and children's entertainment.
Morning coffee, home made lunches and an all-day bar will be provided by CAMRA.
The event will start at 9.45am with a parade of floats led by the May Flower Queen Jenny Dovaston, nine, of Trimdon, and her attendants Amy Miller, Kirsty Smith and Paige Challons, all of Sedgefield, and Courtney Brown, of Trimdon Colliery.
Jenny was selected as queen at a special disco for about 50 children at Sedgefield County Primary School last Saturday.
The association is seeking appropriate transport for Jenny and her four attendants for Saturday's big parade.
The Queen has usually travelled through town on a decorated float or a horse drawn trap, but this year, transport has proven a problem.
The fair is the association's main fundraising event of the year and as always it has been well supported by local businesses.
Anyone who wants more information about the fair or who can offer assistance with transport for the May Queen and her attendants should contact John or Maxine Robinson on (01740) 620042.
