PEOPLE will be challenged to take a walk on the wild side when the Children's Foundation's annual Yellow Brick Walk is launched tomorrow.
The sponsored walk will take place at the Washington Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre, Wearside, on Sunday, June 22.
It offers something for all the family, with an 800-metre toddle, the 2.5km stroll, the 8km riverside route or the 12km challenge, which finishes at Penshaw Monument.
Carol Bennett, regional fundraiser at the Children's Foundation, said: "The walk offers a fantastic day out for all the family and ends at the new children's soft play area, where there will be refreshments, entertainment, face painting, goody bags and a chance to meet Courage the Lion and Dorothy."
Registration for the walk is essential.
