POLICE have turned to the public for help following the theft of items from a house where a woman was found dead.
Susan Reed McVicar was found at her home in Brewerton Street, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, on May 1.
All efforts to identify the cause of the 43-year-old's death, including a post-mortem examination, have proved inconclusive.
But yesterday it emerged that property had been stolen from the house.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft and released on police bail.
A man was seen running across Knaresborough High Street from the Silver Street and Chapel Street junction towards Park Row at 11.50pm on April 30.
He was in his early 30s and wore a white shirt, black trousers and had short dark hair.
At the same time, another man was walking up High Street towards Park Row and was directly opposite the old bus station while a Transit-type vehicle was pulling out of the Silver Street and Chapel Street junction.
Police would like to speak to the van driver and the other man, or anybody else who saw the suspected thief running along the High Street. Police can be contacted on (01423) 505541.
