AN exhibition of glasswork and ceramics created by students has gone on display.
The University of Sunderland's Dry Run exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Arts Studio, in the city.
The undergraduates have used techniques such as hot glass, kiln glass and architectural glass, as well as sculptures, in their designs.
Dry Run is in its sixth year and students who have exhibited at the event have gone on to make an impact in the world of glass.
In 2000, student Sharon McJannet was voted one of the most talented young glass artists in the world by a panel of international judges. She is now known around the world and is studying for a masters degree in the US.
Professor Sylva Petrova, university glass historian and Dry Run organiser, said: "The work on show, which has taken four months to prepare, reflects the students' interests and ambitions and the exhibition is an ideal opportunity to see exciting ideas being explored by them."
The exhibition runs until Friday, May 23.
