A 93-year-old woman is recovering after being robbed on Scarborough's South Cliff.
The woman, who has not been named, was sitting on a bench on The Esplanade when her handbag was stolen. Police said the man, aged between 18 and 20, snatched her bag and ran off in the direction of The Spa leaving the woman very shaken and distressed.

CLUB'SAWARD: Richmond Town Football Club has been awarded the Football Association's standard development charter mark award, recognising the work it has done to help develop football in the area.
BOARD MEETING: The Hambleton and Richmondshire Primary Care Trust meets in Tennants Auction Rooms, Leyburn, at 4.30pm on Tuesday, when the debate will centre on performance, the Expert Patient Programme.
SCHOOL WORK: The 51-pupil school at Snainton near Scarborough, which dates back 114 years, is to get a £200,000 extension to provide much-needed teaching and storage space.
NEW MAYOR: John Bowes has been re-elected mayor of Kirkybymoorside on his own casting vote. Councillor Nigel Richardson was appointed deputy mayor.
