FRIENDS of Sedgefield St Edmund's Church are organising a sponsored abseil from the church tower.
The Norman tower is the tallest church tower in the county only surpassed by Durham Cathedral. Two years ago sponsored abseilers raised over £4,000 which was divided between the Church Friends and Butterwick Hospice. This year proceeds will be shared between the church and Macmillan Nursing Care.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 14, and anyone interested should contact Brian Mutch on (01740) 622302. Those taking part need to raise a minimum of £50. Full instruction will be given.
