THOUSANDS of pounds worth of lighting has been installed at a club for people with learning disabilities.
The money for Redcar's Grenfell Club has come from community grants and fundraising activities
The club, which is based in Ridley Street, received a £1,000 grant from the West Redcar Single Regeneration Budget Community Chest, £1,000 from Corus, £1,000 from Barclaycard and £250 from The Prince's Trust. The rest of the money to pay for the £4,000 lights installation was raised by fundraising activities.
The Grenfell Club provides social and leisure activities for children and adults with learning and physical disabilities.
Barbara Thompson, chairman of the Cleveland Society of Mencap, will open the multi-sensory room on Saturday, June 21, at 2pm.
