THE longest day will be full of action for walkers and cyclists in east Cleveland.
A total of 10,000 leaflets have been distributed promoting the Nevisport Walking and Cycling Festival on Saturday, June 21.
There will also be events across the district on Friday, June 20, and Sunday, June 22, for people of all ages.
The weekend has been organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and has received sponsorship from Guisborough Market Town Initiative and the Nevisport mountain equipment company.
The programme includes:
* Friday: an evening buffet at the Fox and Hounds at Slapewath
* Saturday: a seven-mile guided walk from Lingfield Farm Countryside Centre, Middlesbrough, to Flatts Lane Country Park, Normanby; a ten-mile circular ramble around Guisborough Woods, Roseberry Topping and Great Ayton Moor; a 20-mile circular trek around Guisborough, Wilton, Lazenby Bank and Eston Nab; a two-mile guided bike ride for five to seven-year-olds to a Teddy bears' picnic at Guisborough Forest; a four-mile guided woodland ride for over-tens around Guisborough and the woods.
* Sunday: a five-mile guided walk to the Skinningrove Mining Museum; an eight-mile wildlife wander around Saltburn; an 18-mile walk from Guisborough to Staithes; an 18-mile guided bike ride around Commondale and Roseberry Topping.
