HUNDREDS of youngsters from County Durham have tried a little taste of Europe.
Almost 350 pupils from 40 primary schools joined in Europe Day celebrations last Friday at County Hall in Durham. They sampled a continental breakfast and conversed in foreign languages. The children, dressed in European costumes, took part in a quiz with prizes provided by the European Parliament. The day's activities included a drama class in Norwegian and singing Baltic folk songs.
