Teesside Hospice in Middlesbrough is marking its 21st anniversary with a fashion show luncheon at Marton Hotel and Country Club, Marton, Middlesbrough, tomorrow, and a charity ball in a month's time.
There will be fashions on the catwalk, stalls selling jewellery, satin and silk, and advice on healthy eating. The ball, at the Tall Trees Hotel, Yarm on June 20 will include a four-course dinner and a celebrity auction, featuring Alastair Brownlee, of Century Radio.
DRIVER INJURED: A woman was taken to hospital after her car skidded and overturned in the early hours of Saturday. The accident happened at about 3am as she approached the Wolviston roundabout, in Seal Sands Road, Billingham. The car is thought to have skidded across the central reservation as it approached the roundabout and rolled over. The woman was treated for shock.
HOUSE BLAZE: A kitchen was damaged by smoke and heat when fire broke out at a house in Haddon Street, Middlesbrough on Saturday. Firefighters were called out at 9.20pm and wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze. No one was injured.
WOMAN HURT: A woman was taken to hospital with neck and leg injuries as well as shock after she was involved in a car accident on Saturday. Two vehicles collided in Birchington Avenue, Grangetown at about 6.30pm, leaving two people trapped.
FIRE CALL-OUT: Firefighters were called to a blaze involving a shed adjoining a shop in Ochil Terrace, Billingham, on Saturday, at 1pm. The shed was severely damaged.
TYRE CHECK: Today sees the start of a three-day tyre safety campaign at Asda, in South Bank, between 10am and 4pm. Customers can have their tyres checked, free of charge, to make sure they have the legal tread.
