PEOPLE struggling to overcome the problem of getting to work or college will be given a helping hand in Ripon with the launch of the Wheels 2 Work scheme this summer.
Residents living in rural isolation near the city who find it difficult to access public transport could make use of the moped lease scheme, which is being launched at Masham Town Hall on Tuesday, June 17.
Individuals can apply to use one of the ten Honda mopeds that have been purchased by Northallerton and District Voluntary Services Association.
Others may be referred to the charity through Jobcentre Plus, Connexions and local schools.
Successful candidates will receive a moped and safety equipment for six months after completing free, compulsory basic training.
