A SECOND World War Spitfire and a fireworks show will provide the finale for a proms spectacular.
The English National Orchestra, with conductor Jae Alexander, tenor Wynne Evans and soprano Sarah Ryan, will feature in the event at Castle Howard, North Yorkshire, on August 16.
The concert will begin with a performance by the John Miller Orchestra, a big band with close links to Glenn Miller, whose nephew, John, is the musical director.
The concert will take place in the open, with people being encouraged to take food and drink, chairs and rugs.
The following night, stars from London's West End will perform songs from some of the great musicals for a similar, picnic-style, event which will again end with a fireworks display.
Tickets, from £10 to £25, are on sale for the Castle Howard Proms Spectacular and Best of the West End. Call (01653) 64833 to order.
