THOUSANDS of schoolchildren will enjoy a taste of rural life next month at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's annual Countryside Days.
Held for the first time in 2001, the event has become so popular that two days have been set aside this year to allow more than 2,700 youngsters to attend.
Children aged from seven to 11 will converge on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, on June 17 and 18, to take part in a range of activities, from weaving and stick-making to dry-stone walling and wood turning.
