Castle Howard, near Malton, will again host a Porsche in the Park event from Saturday to Monday.
It is expected to be one of the greatest gatherings of Porsche cars and their owners in Britain. Also planned are fashion shows, displays and children's entertainment.
HALL VISIT: Members of the Northallerton and District Local History Society were given a guided tour of Kiplin Hall, Scorton, near Richmond, by administrator Dawn Webster.
ART SHOW: Bedale Art Group is holding a three-day exhibition at Bedale Hall from Thursday, May 29. Entry is free and refreshments are available.
STEPPING DOWN: Valerie Wells has retired after seven years as the clerk of Sowerby Parish Council. Her successor is Pat Wilson.
FUN RUN: Entries are being taken for the annual ten-mile road race and five-kilometre fun run in Thirsk on June 1. Entry forms are available from Fox's Copy Centre, in the Market Place.
CHARITY SALE: A nearly-new sale will be held at Hugh Ripley Hall, Ripon, from May 28 to 31. Money raised will go to the Save the Children Fund.
ANTIQUES FAIR: The village hall at Danby, near Whitby, will host an antiques and collectors fair on Monday. A 30p admission charge will raise funds for local charities.
LIFT RESCUE: Firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped in a lift at the HSBC bank in Parliament Street, York. They wound the lift down by hand.
FLUTE STOLEN: A flute, worth about £2,000, has been stolen from York University. The instrument was a Gemeinhart and bore the serial number A1128.
