Slazenger Harrogate and District League: A remarkable 40-match unbeaten run by Northallerton has been ended.
They were beaten 5-4 by Thirsk A team in Division Three, suffering their first defeat since joining the league four seasons ago.
Each year they had won successive promotion, proving invincible until Thirsk grabbed their slender but memorable win.
League secretary Ian Hargreaves said: "It was a tremendous achievement to go so long without losing, particularly for a new side coming into the league."

There was double delight for the Thirsk club when their first team captured top spot in Division One.
Last season's runners-up for the title edged home to a 5-4 win over Harrogate Racquets' second team, having beaten newly-promoted Bedale 8-1 earlier.
Thirsk won their latest match despite being without one of their key regulars Nick Hatch.

There was a surprise setback for the Harlow first pair Simon Daly and Sophie Jacob when they went down to Spa's second string pairing of Rob Dearing and Jo Craven 6-1 in a single set clash.

Champions Horsforth have won their opening two matches in the First Division.
Their most impressive performance came against last season's runners-up Whitkirk who were routed 69-39.
Horsforth went top of the table after trouncing Roundhay 81-27.

Sunderland U and RC have opened their first season in this section's men's Northern Group with wins over Cumbria's Kirkby Stephen by 4-2 and Shropshire's High Ercall of Telford by 5-1. Guy Galpin, Sean Galpin, Nick Lazonby and Gavin Sutcliffe have been the players to date.
The ladies of Tennis World have one win and one defeat. Their team of Laura Bailey, Joanna Cunliffe, Lynsey Davison and Claire Smith had an easy success over Northern Blackburn, but of that strong line-up only the Misses Smith and Cunliffe contested the recent fixture away in the Wirral against Neston and the result was a narrow defeat. The six rubbers of normal play were shared, but the Chester club won the special tiebreaks shoot-out by 2-1.
