A SHAKESPEARE play will be performed as The Bard intended when a touring theatre company returns to Richmond next month.
Theatre Set-Up is no stranger to the town having performed at the castle in the past.
On Sunday, June 29, an eight-strong cast will return to the castle ruins to perform Two Gentlemen of Verona under the evening sky - no matter what the weather.
Shakespeare's work was often staged in spectacular settings in Elizabethan times when the nation's great halls and mansions would have been the backdrop to many of the playwright's comedies and dramas.
Theatre Set-Up specialises in recreating the authentic experience, even limiting the cast to reflect the manpower used by Shakespeare's own company, The King's Men.
The Richmond performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £8.50 and are available from the castle or by telephoning (01748) 822493.
