Northumberland and Durham Tyneside Senior League, Under-15s: Annfield Plain won a low-scoring game at Lanchester by just 16 runs after posting 78 for three which included 50 by Stephen Harrison. Replying Lanchester managed 62 for six as Brittain captured two of the wickets for 20 runs.
Smith led Lintz to 107 for seven before Greenside replied with 71 for nine. Scott, with three for 14 and Bell whose three wickets cost him 46 runs, were prominent for Greenside.
Scott was Greenside's leading runmaker with 24 but when Gray returned three for 13, Foster took 15 and Smith two wickets without conceding a run, Greenside managed only 71 for nine.
Burnopfield had 27 runs in hand of Ryton. Marcus Peart again showed form carrying his bat for 75 and Stephen Allen contributed 20 to the Burnopfield total of 121 for four. Walker was the pick of the Ryton attack with figures of two for 26 and when the visitors replied they ended on 104 for six which included 27 by Thompson and 24 from Walker. Peart also performed well with the ball for Burnopfield taking two for 16 while Stephen Allen had two for 17 and Adam Tinnion two for 34.
Blaydon enjoyed a seven wickets victory at home to Swalwell when Robert Grand hit a six and four boundaries in an unbeaten 51 for Swalwell, who finished on 88 for one. Blaydon though conceded only three wickets reaching the winning target. There was a second programme in the league during the week and Annfield Plain went down by 42 runs against Sacriston.
Lintz had the better of Whickham by nine wickets following a high scoring game. Man of the match was undoubtedly Andrew Smith who crashed four sixes and 12 boundaries in 97 not out. Burnopfield had the better of Shotley Bridge by an eight wickets margin. After scoring 89 Lanchester reduced Consett to 38 and at Greenside, Swalwell won by 20 runs. When they made first use of the wicket Swalwell realised 101 for one with Robert Grand hitting nine fours in an unbeaten 63 from as many deliveries. Andrew Venus gave support recording four boundaries in 25 not out and when Greenside replied they finished on 81 for five as Man of the Match Grand took two for 15 and Chris Todd two for 16 .
Chopwell have unfortunately had to drop out of the league after being unable to field at team for their fixture at Consett.
